Delain release “We Are Fire” feat. Fabienne Erni, Noa Gruman and Paolo Ribaldini

Delain have released their new single and music video, “We Are Fire,” featuring guest vocalists Fabienne Erni (Eluveitie), Noa Gruman and Paolo Ribaldini. The track marks the first release under the Dutch symphonic metal band’s newly announced collaborative format.

The song follows Delain’s recent announcement that vocalist Diana Leah has departed the group to pursue other interests. Rather than recruit a permanent replacement, the band will move forward with a rotating lineup of guest musicians and vocalists on future recordings and live performances.

Speaking about the new single, founder and keyboardist Martijn Westerholt commented: “‘We Are Fire’ is about the inner fire that keeps us moving forward, even when the path ahead is uncertain. It’s about daring to cross boundaries, and refusing to give up on what we believe in. To me, it captures the spirit of what DELAIN is becoming. A place where different voices and personalities can come together, each bringing something unique, while sharing the same fire.”

Alongside Westerholt, Delain’s core lineup consists of Ludovico Cioffi, Ronald Landa and Sander Zoer.

The band has also revealed the full list of artists participating in its new creative direction, including Marko Hietala, Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation), Anneke van Giersbergen, Fabienne Erni (Eluveitie), Patty Gurdy, Noa Gruman, Paolo Ribaldini, Johanna Kurkela (Auri, Eye of Melian) and Ruud Jolie (Within Temptation).

Hietala and den Adel previously appeared on Delain’s 2006 debut album, Lucidity, making their return particularly fitting as the band celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Delain will introduce the new lineup onstage during a European tour in February 2027, with Infected Rain serving as special guests and Persefone providing additional support.

The trek begins February 2 in Cologne, Germany, and concludes February 11 in Tilburg, Netherlands. Hietala, Erni, Gruman and Ribaldini are among the guest artists confirmed to participate in the live shows.

Additional international dates are expected to be announced.
