Iggy Pop will receive the Man with the Golden Ear award at the 2026 Soundedit International Music Producers Festival in Łódź, Poland.
The Stooges frontman and punk icon will be honored during the festival’s 18th edition, which takes place October 23-27.
The Man with the Golden Ear award has been presented by Soundedit since 2009 and recognizes artists, producers, sound engineers and other figures who have made significant contributions to recorded music. Previous recipients include Brian Eno, George Martin, John Cale, Daniel Lanois and Tony Visconti.
Soundedit Festival director Maciej Werk commented: “This is a historic moment for us. After all, we’re talking about a man who defined the raw essence of punk both in the studio and on stage. His collaboration with David Bowie has become an absolute classic of music production.”
Werk continued: “By awarding him the Man with the Golden Ear, we’re paying tribute to a giant whose legacy resonates perfectly with this year’s other honorees: Bogdan Kondracki and Ziemowit Kosmowski. Each of them, in their own way, proves that what matters most in music is one’s own inimitable style.”
Iggy Pop joins previously announced 2026 recipients Bogdan Kondracki and Ziemowit Kosmowski.
The 2026 Soundedit festival will feature concerts, workshops, lectures and its annual awards gala, along with sessions focusing on music production and audio technology.
The 18th Soundedit International Music Producers Festival takes place October 23-27 in Łódź, Poland.
