Steve Blanco announces solo piano album ‘Misztikus’

Steve Blanco, bassist of New York City avant-garde metal outfit Imperial Triumphant, has announced his new solo piano album, Misztikus, due out digitally on July 24.

Recorded at Music City Piano in Nashville, Tennessee, on a Shigeru Kawai SK-7 grand piano, Misztikus features 10 original compositions showcasing Blanco’s work beyond the extreme metal realm. Alongside the announcement, he has released the album’s first preview, “Mysterio,” accompanied by a performance video filmed during the recording sessions.

Fans can pre-order Misztikus digitally and on vinyl through Blanco’s Bandcamp page. Ahead of the album’s release, he will also host an official Bandcamp listening party on July 22.

In support of the release, Blanco will perform select solo piano concerts featuring Imprints of Man, his collection of piano arrangements based on Imperial Triumphant material. Each performance will include the complete program followed by a meet-and-greet.
