Metal band Saeculorum have officially announced Chris Cannella as their new vocalist, ushering in what the group describes as the beginning of its next chapter.
Cannella brings decades of experience to the band. In addition to serving as guitarist for death metal veterans Malevolent Creation, he has previously performed with Deicide, Autumns End, and N17, while also making numerous guest appearances on releases throughout the metal scene.
Outside of performing, Cannella has also spent years in the music industry, serving as Product Manager for the EVH brand under Fender, where he worked directly with the late Eddie Van Halen on the development of the EVH product line. His résumé also includes work with Dean Guitars, Jackson, and ESP.
The band shared the following statement alongside the announcement:
We’re excited to officially welcome Chris Cannella as the new vocalist for Saeculorum.
Chris brings decades of experience to the table. He’s currently the guitarist for Malevolent Creation and has previously performed with Deicide, Autumns End, and N17, along with numerous guest appearances on releases by artists across the metal realm.
We could make a joke about accidentally hiring someone with a resume longer than our setlist… but the truth is, we’re just honored to have him on board.
Chris brings experience, creativity, and a relentless passion for heavy music, and we can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’re creating together.
Please join us in welcoming Chris Cannella to Saeculorum.
The next chapter starts now. Let’s fucking gooo!!!
Cannella’s arrival comes shortly after Saeculorum expanded its lineup with the addition of second guitarist James Gelber. The band introduced Gelber last month after what it described as a rigorous selection process, praising his musicianship, energy, and passion for heavy music while noting that his addition further strengthens the group’s sound as they continue writing and performing.
With both Cannella and Gelber now in the fold, Saeculorum appear to be entering a new era, with the band teasing that new music and future live performances are on the horizon.
