Jim Root urges patience following reports of Sid Wilson’s Slipknot exit

Slipknot guitarist Jim Root has shared a brief message on social media following reports that longtime DJ Sid Wilson is no longer a member of the band.

Posting to his Instagram Stories, Root wrote:

“Don’t believe every thing you read. Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information.”

While Root did not directly mention Wilson or the reports surrounding his status in Slipknot, the timing of the post has fueled speculation among fans.

On Friday, TMZ reported that Wilson had been permanently removed from Slipknot, citing a source with direct knowledge of the situation. According to the report, Wilson was informed Friday afternoon that he was out of the band, though no reason for the reported decision was provided.

As of this writing, Slipknot have not issued an official statement regarding Wilson’s status, and Wilson has not publicly commented on the report.

Root’s message suggests fans may want to wait for additional information before drawing conclusions. Whether an official statement from the band or Wilson is forthcoming remains to be seen.
