Sid Wilson is reportedly no longer a member of Slipknot.
According to TMZ, Wilson was informed on Friday that he had been permanently removed from the band. The outlet, citing a source with direct knowledge of the situation, reported that Wilson was notified late Friday afternoon. A reason for the reported dismissal has not been made public.
Neither Slipknot nor Wilson has publicly commented on the report as of this writing.
Wilson joined Slipknot in 1998 and was part of the band’s classic nine-member lineup that appeared on the group’s 1999 self-titled debut album. He has remained with the band ever since.
If confirmed, Wilson’s reported departure would mark another major lineup change for Slipknot. Original members Chris Fehn and Craig Jones previously exited the band, while bassist Paul Gray died in 2010 and drummer Joey Jordison died in 2021.
