King Ultramega have released their latest tribute single, “Birth Ritual,” a reimagining of the Soundgarden track originally featured on the Singles movie soundtrack.
The release arrives one day after what would have been Chris Cornell’s 58th birthday and during the ongoing celebration of Singles’ 30th anniversary.
The new version features Matt Cameron, who co-wrote and performed on the original track, alongside Lzzy Hale on vocals, Joe Hottinger on guitar, and Mark Menghi on bass and production.
Menghi said: “KING ULTRAMEGA has become more than a cover project; it feels like a living tribute to Chris Cornell’s entire creative spirit.”

The single follows previous King Ultramega releases celebrating Cornell’s catalog and continues the project’s goal of honoring his musical legacy. Proceeds from the project support the MusiCares Foundation.
