Kingdom of Giants have released a music video for their new single “10 Cent Martyr,” taken from their upcoming album Usurper, due November 13 via SharpTone Records.
The track sees the metalcore band experimenting with a different approach to their sound, particularly in the contrast between vocalists Dana Willax and JT Gutierrez.
“This track for us was a way to branch out from the classic metalcore style riffs and try something that feels fresh once you get deeper into the album,” Willax explained. “I got to experiment with a lot of vocal tones on this song and I really enjoy how big the contrast is between JT and I on this track.”
Usurper follows the band’s 2020 album Passenger and was written and recorded over eight months. Despite the members living in different parts of the West Coast, the group made a point of collaborating in person. Willax also handled production, mixing and mastering duties.
“The last five years have been full of highs, lows, wins, losses, and roadblocks but at the end of the day we are just so happy and fortunate to continue making music that we love and to share it with anyone who cares to listen,” Willax said.
Kingdom of Giants will support the album with a North American headlining tour featuring Deadlands, Holy Wars and Night Rider. The trek begins November 14 in Seattle and concludes December 18 in Sacramento.
