Extol share “Merciless Hunger” visualizer from upcoming ‘Aura of Decay’

Norwegian metal band Extol have released a visualizer for their new single “Merciless Hunger,” taken from their upcoming album Aura of Decay, due November 6 via Solid State Records.

The track draws on the band’s earlier sound, combining elements of thrash and black metal with technical riffing and atmospheric passages. Lyrically, the song examines how ideology and religious beliefs can be manipulated as tools of control.

“It is a warning against those who seek to usurp the beliefs of others, cloaking their hunger for power in a language of love, truth, and sacred justice,” vocalist Peter Espevoll explained.

“Merciless Hunger” was recorded at Hawk Studios, Little Cave Studio and Hrada Creative, with mixing and mastering handled by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios.

Aura of Decay features 11 tracks and marks the band’s latest full-length release. Extol’s current lineup consists of Peter Espevoll on vocals, Ole Børud on guitar, bass and vocals, David Husvik on drums and vocals, and Christer Espevoll on guitar.
