Orgy frontman Jay Gordon has addressed the band’s absence from the final three dates of the “Freaks on Parade Tour” with Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson and The HU.
Orgy played their final show of the trek on September 16 in Airway Heights, Washington, before missing the remaining stops in Auburn and Ridgefield, Washington, and the September 20 tour finale in Concord, California.
Following the conclusion of the tour, Gordon issued a statement explaining that the band had made the decision to step away from the remaining shows.
“I want to let everyone know that Orgy has made the difficult decision to step away from the remaining dates of the RZ/MM tour,” Gordon wrote. “Circumstances arose that made continuing no longer workable for us, and although I’m not able to discuss the details, this was not a decision we made lightly.”
Gordon did not elaborate on the circumstances behind the band’s departure, but thanked fans who supported Orgy during the tour.
“I’m grateful to everyone who supported us and came out to the shows. We have tremendous respect for all the bands, fans, musicians, and hardworking crews involved, and we look forward to sharing what’s next for Orgy very soon via new music and shows.”
Gordon concluded his message with “See ya on the 26th!” though it’s unclear what he was referring to.
Orgy are currently scheduled to perform at Sick New World Texas on October 24 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth.
The band have not provided any further details regarding their early departure from the “Freaks on Parade Tour.”
