Australian metalcore band Polaris have returned with “Without You,” their first new music in three years.
The track arrives through ADA in Australia and New Zealand and SharpTone Records throughout the rest of the world. “Without You” marks the band’s first new material since the death of guitarist Ryan Siew in 2023 and reflects on the grief and loss the members have experienced in the years since.
“Never did we imagine that we would one day have reason to write this song,” Polaris said. “But three years on, we find ourselves still making sense of this immeasurable tragedy, and what it has meant to be left in the wake.
“This is the sound of crushing loss, shock, grief and heartache, and the beginning of us learning how to share that with the world.”
“Without You” arrives alongside an official music video that incorporates imagery from Polaris’ past with footage of the band performing inside an empty cathedral.
The new song follows the band’s third studio album, Fatalism, which was released in 2023 following Siew’s death. The record debuted at No. 1 on Australia’s ARIA Albums Chart and later won Best Independent Heavy Album at the 2024 AIR Awards.
Polaris have remained active on the road in the years since, including appearances at Knotfest Australia and several European festivals in 2025. Earlier this year, the band supported Linkin Park on their Australian arena tour before joining Electric Callboy for the North American leg of their TANZNEID World Tour.
The band will next head to the UK and Europe supporting I Prevail in September and October before returning to Australia for Good Things Festival in December.
