Carcass have postponed their upcoming Australia, New Zealand, China and India dates due to a family situation involving drummer Daniel Wilding.
The band announced the news in a statement on social media, explaining that Wilding needs to remain close to his family and will be unable to spend an extended period away from home.
“Our drummer Dan is facing a deeply upsetting family situation, and his priority right now is being with his family,” Carcass said. “Out of respect for everyone involved, we won’t be sharing further details, but we hope our fans will understand that this is a situation where family has to come first and he simply cannot be so far away from home for so long.”
The affected dates include Carcass’ planned “Putrefying Down Under” tour of Australia and New Zealand, along with scheduled appearances in China and India.
“We know how much people have been looking forward to these shows, and postponing them is not a decision we have taken lightly,” the band continued. “We are working on rescheduled dates and will share further information as soon as we can.”
Carcass also clarified that Bangalore Open Air in India will still take place as scheduled without the band and encouraged fans to support the other artists performing at the festival.
All existing tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled Carcass dates, which have yet to be announced.
“Thank you for your patience, understanding and, most importantly, your kindness and support at what is a very difficult time for our band and family,” Carcass added.
