Porno for Pyros to release first new song in over 25 years

Recently reunited Los Angeles rockers Porno for Pyros have announced plans to release their first new single in over 25 years. The band, featuring Jane’s Addiction members Perry Farrell (vocals) and Stephen Perkins (drums), along with founding members Peter DiStefano (guitar) and Martyn LeNoble (bass), will drop their new song “Aqua” on November 16th through Rhino Records (pre-save here).

“Now we’re here, and that same heart, that same desire to make music together, has returned,” frontman Perry Farrell commented in a statement. “Getting together with these guys has been some of the most fun, the happiest times in my life.”

““Agua” – our new single, an ode to the sea and all it’s beautiful creatures,” the band added via social media.

The incoming tune follow’s the band’s song “Hard Charger,” which Farrell wrote and recorded in 1997, and features a guest appearance by Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction) and Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers). Check out a preview video for “Agua” below. The band’s new EP comes out in February.

Earlier this fall, Porno for Pyros were forced to postpone their first tour in 25 years, which was set to kick off in Wheatland, CA on October 8th.

Regarding the tour postponement, the band said:
“Petrons, We are beyond thankful for all of your support these last 30 years, and are anxious to celebrate with you. Whilst rehearsing for our first tour in 25 years, we’ve also been in the studio creating new music – that we were hoping to get to you in time for these shows.

Unfortunately, we have had to move the dates for the upcoming tour as we were not able to begin our campaign in time. So, we’ve pushed the tour a few months from now, in order for everyone to hear and appreciate the new material that is finally finished.

Listen up for the new music in the upcoming weeks and keep an eye out for new tour dates. We’re coming! – Porno for Pyros.”
