Greek black metal veterans Rotting Christ have announced a vinyl reissue of their 2004 album, Sanctus Diavolos. The reissue arrives through Season of Mist on September 11, 2026, and will be available on standard black vinyl as well as a transparent yellow, red, and black marbled edition (pre-order).
Originally released in September 2004, Sanctus Diavolos marked the band’s eighth full-length album and is widely regarded as one of the defining releases from their gothic era. It was also the first album written by frontman Sakis Tolis following the departures of longtime guitarist Costas Vasilakopoulos and keyboardist Georgios Tolias, with Tolis taking on guitars, keyboards, and vocals.
Recorded at SCA Studios in Athens and mixed by Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman in Sweden, the album blends aggressive black metal with gothic and symphonic elements. It also features a guest guitar solo from Gus G on “Visions of a Blind Order” and choir arrangements by Christos Antoniou.
