Saliva have released a new music video for “Breaking Through,” the title track from their newly released album of the same name.
Breaking Through arrived August 14 via Judge & Jury Records, with its title track drawing from frontman Bobby Amaru’s journey to sobriety. The song deals with addiction and the process of moving forward, while the video follows a man trapped by addiction as his life passes by outside the walls surrounding him.
Amaru said of the song and album: “‘Breaking Through’ is a project about confronting adversity and finding the strength to move beyond it.”
The new album was produced by Amaru and Steve Perreira, with Howard Benson and Three Days Grace drummer Neil Sanderson serving as executive producers. Breaking Through also features guest appearances from Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Johnny Van Zant, Thousand Foot Krutch’s Trevor McNevan and former Hinder frontman Austin John Winkler.
The video arrives ahead of Saliva’s upcoming co-headlining U.S. tour with Drowning Pool, which celebrates 25 years of the bands’ breakthrough albums Every Six Seconds and Sinner.
The anniversary run kicks off October 8 in Corpus Christi, TX and continues through October 25 in Des Moines, IA, with both bands performing career-spanning sets featuring material from their respective landmark albums alongside other songs from their catalogs.
