Saltwound share new song “Pound of Flesh” feat. Mugshot’s Ringo Waterman

Sacramento heavy hitters Saltwound have released their new standalone single “Pound of Flesh,” featuring Ringo Waterman of Mugshot.

Released via SharpTone Records, the track follows the band’s 2024 debut album, The Temptation of Pain, and continues their blend of deathcore and metalcore.

“Pound of Flesh” comes with a new music video and pushes Saltwound’s self-described “Norcal Violence” sound with crushing grooves, heavy riffs, and a guest appearance from Waterman.

Vocalist Spencer Timmons said the song focuses on the feeling of people constantly wanting to take something from you, whether out of love, hate, or self-interest.

“Some days I honestly prefer the people that hate me more; at least there’s an innate honesty there,” Timmons said.
