Six Feet Under bring ‘Next To Die’ tour to NYC with Kataklysm & Wormhole (photos)

Death metal veterans Six Feet Under brought their North American tour to New York City on July 14, taking over Gramercy Theatre for a night of crushing riffs alongside special guests Kataklysm and Wormhole.

The tour supports Six Feet Under’s latest studio album, Next To Die, while reuniting the band with longtime friends Kataklysm for a summer run across North America.

Opening the evening, Wormhole got the crowd warmed up with their brand of technical death metal before Kataklysm delivered a career-spanning set featuring songs like “Prevail,” “Soul Destroyer,” “Goliath,” “Die as a King,” “In Shadows & Dust,” “As I Slither,” and “The Black Sheep.”

Six Feet Under closed out the night with a set packed with fan favorites, opening with “War Is Coming” before tearing through classics including “Silent Violence,” “Revenge of the Zombie,” “Lycanthropy,” “Feasting on the Blood of the Insane,” “Victim of the Paranoid,” and “Ghosts of the Undead.” The band also mixed in covers of Holocaust’s “Death or Glory” and Cannibal Corpse staples “Stripped, Raped and Strangled” and “Hammer Smashed Face” to wrap up the show.
