Russian metal band Slaughter to Prevail have released a new music video for “Koschei,” taken from their latest album, Grizzly, released last year via Sumerian Records.
The track draws inspiration from Koschei the Immortal, a legendary figure from Slavic mythology known for hiding his death beyond his physical body. Frontman Alex Terrible explains that the song explores themes of mortality, legacy, and the idea that a person’s true essence can continue beyond the physical form.
Terrible said: “The whole song is about the idea that even if you manage to discover how to kill Koschei, his essence, his soul, his energy lives on and is simply reborn into something else.”
The release arrives ahead of Slaughter To Prevail’s upcoming European festival run, which includes a headline appearance at the U.K.’s Bloodstock Open Air.
