The Hu have released an official music video for “Warrior Chant,” a track from the Mongolian band’s third studio album, HUN.
“Warrior Chant” first arrived in March ahead of the album and leans heavily into the traditional Mongolian instrumentation that has helped shape The Hu’s Hunnu Rock sound.
“‘Warrior Chant’ has our signature rhythm that our fans fell in love with and everyone who will listen and know us will say that it is our song,” Galaa explains. “Our third album has bit of everything -rhythm wise, and we see that as a progress of expanding the Hunnu Rock genre.”
He continues, “This song has the rhythm that is original to us and is rooted in Mongolian culture. Enkush and I focused on horse head fiddle solos by imitating the horse gait and you will hear the rhythm throughout the song. Of course Jaya perfected the rhythm by adding Mongolian wind instrument, Unu did heavy percussion drum throughout. Mongolian traditional instruments are heavily used on this song and our die hard fans are going to love it!”
Originally released digitally and on CD, HUN features 11 tracks and will now receive a wider physical rollout through Better Noise Music. Vinyl editions arrive September 11 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, followed by a wider European release on September 18 and a UK release on October 9. A box set is expected later in October.
The Hu will soon return to the UK and Europe for a 23-city headlining tour with Skáld. The run begins September 29 in Glasgow and continues through November 1, hitting cities including London, Berlin, Warsaw, Paris and Brussels.
Before heading overseas, The Hu are currently supporting Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson on their “Freaks On Parade” tour alongside Orgy. Their remaining dates on the trek run through September 20 in Concord, California.
