Check out photos of The Mars Volta – led by guitarist/composer Omar Rodríguez-López and singer/lyricist Cedric Bixler-Zavala – from their show at Terminal 5 in New York City on September 30, 2022 below. All shots by Johnny Perilla.
The show marked the second of two packed concerts in Hell’s Kitchen, with the first having gone down on the 29th. The Mars Volta performed 14 songs in NYC, including classic hits like “Roulette Dares (The Haunt Of),” “L’Via L’Viaquez,” “Drunkship of Lanterns,” “Inertiatic ESP” and others. Supporting their fresh new full-length album ‘The Mars Volta,’ the band also played new tracks “Graveyard Love” and “Blacklight Shine.”
The mostly sold-out trek, which hit major markets in Texas, Colorado, California and more, marked The Mars Volta’s first live shows in a decade. Next up for the band, the gang will perform at the ‘Shaky Knees‘ music festival on May 6th in Central Park – Atlanta, GA, playing alongside The Killers, Muse, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Placebo and others. TMV will also take on Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, CA on May 12th with Red Hot Chili Peppers and Thundercat [TIX], plus ‘Welcome to Rockville’ in Daytona Beach, FL on May 18th [TIX], along with gigs in Portugal and Spain come June.
