The Schizophonics have released their new single “Black Pleather,” the first preview of their forthcoming album, Burning Floor, due out later this year through Alternative Tentacles.
The new track follows the San Diego-based trio’s recent signing with the label and arrives alongside an official music video filmed at Golden Ghost in San Diego. The clip also features a cameo from Melvins drummer Dale Crover.
Speaking about the song, The Schizophonics said: “‘Black Pleather’ is twist music from hell. With its driving clap-a-long beat and dark-yet-campy imagery, it’s the unholy love child between Chubby Checker and The Stooges. Rock’n’roll is dance music!”

The Schizophonics will support Burning Floor with an extensive North American tour beginning September 17 in Santa Cruz, CA and wrapping up October 22 in Los Angeles, CA.
Fever Dog will open the September 17-27 dates, while Descartes a Kant will join the tour from September 30 through October 22. Crover will also appear on select dates from October 6-8 and October 11-16.
