Australian metalcore band Windwaker have announced that they will no longer perform at this year’s Hellbound Cruise as synths and samples player and production manager Connor Robins takes a break from performing to focus on his health.
The band shared the update on social media, explaining that Robins made the decision following two years of demanding touring.
“After two years of consistent and demanding touring, our Synths & Samples player and Production Manager, Connor Robins, has made the difficult decision to step away from performing for the remainder of the year to prioritise his health,” Windwaker wrote.
The group explained that Robins plays an important role both onstage and behind the scenes, and that his absence will require adjustments to their touring and production setup.
Windwaker also apologized to fans who had planned to see them aboard Hellbound Cruise.
“We’re genuinely sorry to everyone who was looking forward to seeing us at Hellbound,” the band continued. “We know a lot of you have already made plans around the cruise, and we don’t take the disappointment of a change to the lineup lightly.”
Despite the cancellation, Windwaker confirmed that their remaining scheduled performances will proceed as planned.
The band has not announced who, if anyone, will fill in for Robins during his absence.
