Yellowcard have announced a digital deluxe edition of their latest album, Better Days, set for release on September 18 via Better Noise Music (pre-order).
Ahead of the expanded release, the band have shared the previously unreleased track “Calvary Drive,” along with an accompanying lyric video.
According to vocalist Ryan Key, “Calvary Drive” played an important role in the sessions that eventually developed into Better Days, as it was the first demo the band worked on with Travis Barker and songwriter/producer Nick Long.
“‘Calvary Drive’ was the very first demo we worked on with Travis Barker and our friend Nick Long,” Key said. “We were just getting a feel for working together over a weekend and had no idea that this idea would be the spark for what became Better Days. It’s fun to listen back now and hear where we started, and how much the sound evolved from there.”
Barker’s initial involvement ultimately grew into a larger collaboration, with the Blink-182 drummer producing the album and working extensively with Yellowcard during the recording process.
The deluxe edition expands Better Days to 14 tracks and includes collaborations with Avril Lavigne, Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio, Steve Aoki and Good Charlotte.
