AC/DC’s Toronto show canceled due to severe storm damage at Rogers Stadium

AC/DC’s upcoming concert at Rogers Stadium in Toronto has been canceled after the venue sustained severe damage during last week’s extreme weather event.

The show was scheduled to take place September 16, but Rogers Stadium announced Wednesday (September 9) that an assessment conducted with the City of Toronto determined that portions of the venue damaged by the storm will need to be removed and rebuilt.

“Given the damage to the stadium, the venue is not capable of hosting fans for the concert on September 16,” the venue said.

According to Rogers Stadium, officials explored potential ways for the AC/DC concert to move forward in Toronto but were unable to find an alternative venue capable of accommodating the event.

Wayne Zronik, president of business operations for Live Nation Canada, commented: “Cancelling a concert is never a decision we want to make, and we know how disappointing this will be for all of us who have been looking forward to seeing AC/DC close out our summer season. Safety has to come first.”

Zronik added that crews are working with the city and other partners to address the damage, with affected portions of the stadium set to be removed and rebuilt ahead of next summer.

Rogers Stadium’s on-site meteorologist Kevin Mahoney described last week’s storm as an “extraordinary weather event,” saying a suspected microburst brought extreme winds and heavy rainfall to the area. Forensic meteorological analysis of the storm remains ongoing.

Fans who purchased original tickets through Ticketmaster will automatically receive full refunds to their original method of payment, with no action required. Those who purchased resale tickets are being advised to contact their point of sale for refund information.

Rogers Stadium said remediation work will continue with engineers and the City of Toronto, with plans for the venue to welcome fans back next season.

AC/DC are currently in the final stretch of their 2026 North American “Power Up” tour. Following the cancellation of the Toronto show, the band still has scheduled stops in Montreal, Winnipeg, East Rutherford and Philadelphia.
