As I Lay Dying devastate New York City (photos)

San Diego, California metallers As I Lay Dying are currently on the tail end of their colossal U.S. headline tour, which kicked off in early July in Santa Cruz, CA. After massive shows across the nation, the trek is set to return to the West Coast with back-to-back shows in San Diego, CA, at The Observatory North Park on August 9th and 10th.

With support from Chelsea Grin and Entheos, the tour landed in New York City at Irving Plaza on July 24th. As I Lay Dying delivered a robust 17-song set, featuring heavy hitters like “Through Struggle,” “A Greater Foundation,” “The Sound of Truth,” and “My Own Grave.” Additionally, the band’s set included their rendition of “Redefined,” with Entheos vocalist Chaney Crabb joining them on stage. Other highlights included the performance of their first new single in five years, “Burden,” and the night’s powerful closing track, “Confined.”

Our photographer, Dhruv Kumar, was on hand to capture the night’s events. Check out his photos in the gallery below (click photo to enlarge).

Starting on November 15th in Würzburg, Germany, As I Lay Dying will embark on their ‘Through Storms Ahead Tour’ across Europe. The tour will smash stages in Sweden, Norway, France, Spain, and more, with support from Caliban, Decapitated, and Left to Suffer.
