Melbourne, Australia-based alternative metal/stoner rock and prog newcomers Canyon released their five-track debut EP dubbed ‘Static’ on May 21st, 2021. The effort is brief in form but far-reaching in scope and packs a hefty punch with fat riffs and a grunge-like aggression courtesy of power trio Alex Duin (bass/vocals), Dalton Courtney (guitars) and David Collopy (drums). If you haven’t already, make sure to check out the EP in full here.
In continued support of ‘Static,’ we’re happy to assist the band in introducing their exceptional new music video for the title-track to the EP (also serving as the closing track on the effort) which is chock-full of alt-rock melodies complimented by a robust bassline and Duin’s ’90s throwback crooning. The new music video for the song is a remarkable trip on its own, you must check it out for yourself below.
Regarding “Static” and its new clip, the band say, “We are proud to be able to release the final part of our EP Static. Small Robot Studio have done an beautiful job of interpreting the music we wrote and the album art that Nate Hill made. The constant haze of technological noise that surrounds all of us and is always seeking to suck us in. We hope you enjoy all the music and all the art!”
