Chad Gray cancels shows due to vocal issues and illness

Chad Gray has canceled two upcoming shows on his current solo tour as he deals with vocal issues and illness.

The Mudvayne and HELLYEAH frontman announced that his shows in San Diego and Santa Ana will not go ahead, explaining that he needs time to rest his voice and recover in hopes of continuing the tour.

“If you saw the Aftershock show, you know I was having a tough one,” Gray said. “I’ve been dealing with some deep vocal issues, and then that day I got sick and was completely on my ass.”

“I’m already dealing with enough shit right now, and I need to take some time to rest so I can protect my voice, my health, and hopefully keep this tour going.”

Gray apologized to fans affected by the cancellations, adding, “It absolutely breaks my heart. I don’t want to do this, but I truly believe it’s the better decision for all of you and for me.”

He said he hopes to return to San Diego and Santa Ana to make up the canceled performances at a later date.

Gray’s next scheduled show is October 7 at Fremont Country Club in Las Vegas. Fans who purchased meet-and-greet packages for the canceled dates can transfer them to the Las Vegas show by contacting the tour or receive a reimbursement if they cannot attend.

Tickets purchased through Ticketmaster for the canceled shows will be refunded automatically, while fans who purchased through third-party resellers should contact their point of purchase.

“Thank you for understanding and sticking with me,” Gray concluded. “Stay Metal.”
