Swedish post-metal band Cult of Luna have released their new single “Sadness Will Reign,” featuring guest vocals from Gojira frontman Joe Duplantier.
The track is the final single ahead of the band’s upcoming album, In The Shadow Of Your Shadow, due November 6 via RED CRK Recordings. It follows previously released songs “The Rift,” “A Way Back” and the album’s title track.
Speaking about Duplantier’s contribution, Cult of Luna vocalist and guitarist Johannes Persson said: “What I like about Joe is that he has a very particular voice. I think it’s one of the reasons why Gojira stands out as the metal giants that they are.”
In The Shadow Of Your Shadow marks Cult of Luna’s first studio album since 2022’s The Long Road North. The 71-minute record was co-produced by Daniel Berglund and mixed by Magnus Lindberg. Its material draws on recent experiences of loss while incorporating elements of sludge metal, hardcore and other influences.
Cult of Luna will perform at Damnation Festival in Manchester, UK, on November 7 before embarking on a European headlining tour in February and March 2027. The tour begins February 26 in Lausanne, Switzerland, and concludes March 13 in Prague, Czech Republic.
Additional live dates are expected to be announced.
