St. Louis-based alternative metal outfit dead7 have released a visualizer for their new single, “Feels Like,” following last month’s release of “Cannibal.”
The track is the second in a pair of new singles from the band, combining heavy guitar riffs, electronic elements and melodic vocals while exploring themes of self-acceptance and personal growth.
“‘Feels Like’ goes along with the theme of navigating happiness,” explains vocalist Jason Kozik. “It’s a song that defines the struggle a person may face when trying to accept who they are and how to be happy with themselves. It sometimes feels impossible when you’ve been in a negative headspace for so long. When it comes to being happy, the one person that may be holding you back is yourself.”
The song opens with a marching-style beat and spoken-word vocals before shifting into a heavier arrangement.
dead7’s lineup consists of vocalist Jason Kozik, guitarists Dexter Greer and Tim Quinn, bassist Stephen Salyer, and drummer Zach Guinn.
The band previously released their debut full-length album, Love What You Can While You Got Something Left to Love, through SharpTone Records.
