Descendents announce ‘Milo Goes to Comics’ graphic novel with two new songs

Descendents have teamed up with publisher Z2 to announce Milo Goes to Comics, a new graphic novel chronicling the punk band’s nearly five-decade history.

Written by Bill Stevenson, Milo Aukerman and Annie Zaleski, with illustrations by Ryan Dunlavey and cover artwork by longtime Descendents artist Chris Shary, the book explores the band’s early beginnings, friendships, music and career through the years.

The project will also feature two new, exclusive Descendents songs, “I Stuck Around” and “Old Power,” available on a 7-inch vinyl included with select editions.

“This comic is WAY more entertaining than reading the Wienerschnitzel coupon page… and better for you too!” vocalist Milo Aukerman said. “Seriously though, Annie and Ryan have accurately captured the roller coaster ride of our band history, with many anecdotes never before revealed.”

Formed in Manhattan Beach, California, in 1978, Descendents helped shape melodic punk and pop-punk through albums including Milo Goes to College, I Don’t Want to Grow Up, Everything Sucks and Cool to Be You.

Milo Goes to Comics will be available in several formats, including a standard graphic novel, a book and 7-inch vinyl bundle, and a signed platinum edition.

The book is scheduled to begin shipping March 22, 2027, and is available for pre-order at https://z2comics.com/descendents.
