Disfear drummer Marcus Andersson has died following a four-year battle with glioblastoma, the band announced. He leaves behind his wife, children and dog.
Andersson had been a member of the Swedish hardcore band since 1998, playing on releases including Misanthropic Generation and Live the Storm.
“Marcus was the best of friends, an incredible drummer, and a driving force, full of passion,” Disfear wrote. “A big heart, pumping to a rhythm that only he could uniquely master, has sadly stopped beating.”
The band also reflected on losing Andersson following the deaths of former bassist Henrik Frykman and vocalist Tomas Lindberg.
“Losing Marcus, following the losses of Henrik and Tomas, is hard to comprehend,” they added. “Hug your loved ones.”
