GWAR are making their way onto the virtual gridiron as part of a new Mutant Football League 2 DLC expansion arriving this October.
Digital Dreams Entertainment has announced Mutant Football League 2: Antarctica Scumdogs, which will introduce a GWAR-themed team, stadium and other content to the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam.
The Antarctica Scumdogs roster incorporates several characters from GWAR’s universe, including Blōthar The Berserker at quarterback, Jizmak Da Gusha at running back, BälSäc Jaws ‘O Death as a Bruise Receiver and Grodius Maximus at receiver.
Bonesnapper will serve as a guard, while Sawborg Destructo joins as a blitzer and Beefcake The Mighty as a linebasher.
The DLC will also introduce a new stadium based around GWAR mythology, with additional features being saved for the expansion’s launch.
Fans will get their first opportunity to play as the Antarctica Scumdogs before the DLC arrives. The team will make its playable debut at PAX West in Seattle, taking place September 4-7, with the expansion available at Digital Dreams Entertainment’s booth.
The developer will also hold a daily raffle at PAX West offering attendees a chance to be turned into a playable member of the Antarctica Scumdogs.
Mutant Football League 2 is an arcade-style football game built around exaggerated violence, hazards and intentionally dirty play, making GWAR a natural fit for its over-the-top approach.
Mutant Football League 2: Antarctica Scumdogs launches in October 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. An exact release date has yet to be announced.
