Heilung have released a music video for their new single, “Læknisgaldr,” taken from their upcoming album Sagas, due December 11, 2026, via Season of Mist.
Sagas features recordings created by Heilung members Kai Uwe Faust, Maria Franz and Christopher Juul in collaboration with video game developer Ninja Theory for Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga. The collection also includes material inspired by the group’s travels through Iceland that was not used in the game.
“‘Læknisgaldr’ is the first song we are sharing from our in-between albums release Sagas, which collects sounds from the time we traveled to the land of Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga,” the group said. “We see Sagas as its own branch within Heilung’s musical universe.”
The song explores themes of trauma and healing through ritual repetition, while its accompanying video, directed by Gornoss, was filmed in Norway and Iceland.
Sagas will be available on CD, vinyl and digital formats, with deluxe editions featuring Ambient, a bonus collection of eight additional soundscapes recorded during the Hellblade II project.
Meanwhile, Heilung are preparing to record their fourth studio album at LAVA Studios this month, following a hiatus after their 2025 touring activities. Further details about the record have yet to be announced.
