Katatonia bassist Nico Elgstrand has been forced to sit out the band’s shows in China and Japan due to visa issues.
The band shared the news on Sunday, explaining that time-sensitive visa problems prevented Elgstrand from joining them for the two legs of their current tour.
“Unfortunately, due to time sensitive visa issues, Nico hasn’t been able to join us in China and Japan, but he will reconnect with the band in time for the shows in New Zealand and Australia,” Katatonia said.
Elgstrand also shared a brief message regarding his absence: “Not happy that I didn’t make it over to China and Japan this time but hoping to see u next time and then we will be happy!”
The absence is temporary, with Elgstrand expected to rejoin Katatonia in time for the band’s upcoming dates in New Zealand and Australia.
