King Diamond and Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats live at Kings Theatre (photos)

King Diamond brought his soon-to-end ‘The Institute Tour‘ with Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats and Idle Hands to New York City on November 7, 2019, storming a place fit for royalty, the majestic Kings Theatre in Flatbush, Brooklyn.

King Diamond and crew, with a brand new stage production in tow, performed a slew of gems during the first half of their set; like “The Candle,” “Arrival,” “A Mansion in Darkness,” “Halloween,” and “Voodoo,” to name a few. The ongoing trek is in support of King‘s first studio album in twelve years, The Institute, which comes out sometime next year, and the band made sure to give fans a tease of what’s to come with a live rendition of their hauntingly delightful new track “Masquerade of Madness.”

“Welcome Home” and “The Invisible Guests” off Them, along with other old-school cuts “Sleepless Nights” and “The Lake” closed out the end of the main set. For their special encore, the band pulled out 1990 single “The Eye” and another oldie, “Black Horsemen,” which the gang dedicated to the memory of great Mercyful Fate bassist Timi Hansenn, who sadly died last month after a long battle with cancer.
