Lita Ford reveals new album title ‘The Bride Wore Black,’ plans 2027 release

Lita Ford has revealed that her upcoming studio album will be titled The Bride Wore Black, with a tentative release planned for late spring 2027.

Speaking with Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation, Ford confirmed that the record will be a concept album built around a dark fairy tale, featuring various characters who each play a role in the story.

“The entire record is based on a dark fairy tale,” Ford explained. “But it’s kind of a PG-13 sort of dark fairy tale, you know, like a Shrek movie or something like that.”

Ford also discussed her recently released single “Dracula,” explaining that the song represents seduction and the dangers of being drawn to someone who drains the life out of you.

“‘Dracula’ is basically an entity that represents seduction and someone who drains you of your life,” she said. “But you like it. You kind of have this thing for flirting with disaster.”

The singer and guitarist clarified that “Dracula” is not the album’s title track, describing its release as a Halloween gift to fans.

Looking ahead, Ford revealed plans for additional releases in November 2026 and January 2027. She also hopes to release a duet with Doro Pesch titled “The Queen of Pain,” potentially around an upcoming festival appearance in Milan.

Ford said the current goal is to release The Bride Wore Black shortly before summer 2027, although an official release date has not been announced.

The upcoming album will follow Ford’s 2012 studio release Living Like a Runaway.
