Metallica and Red Cross announce Connecticut blood drives ahead of Mohegan Sun shows

Metallica and the American Red Cross have announced three blood drives at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, ahead of the band’s upcoming concerts celebrating the venue’s 25th anniversary.

The blood drives will take place November 18, 20 and 21, 2026, inside Mohegan Sun’s Uncas Ballroom. All eligible donors are encouraged to participate, particularly those with type O blood.

Those who come to donate will receive a limited-edition Red Cross x Metallica T-shirt designed by Squindo, while supplies last.

The events continue the partnership between Metallica and the Red Cross, which began in April 2025 during the U.S. leg of the band’s M72 World Tour. The initiative later expanded nationwide and internationally, collecting more than 25,000 blood donations across the United States and approximately 93,000 worldwide.

“This partnership demonstrates the incredible difference people can make when they come together for a meaningful cause,” said Richard Branigan, CEO of the American Red Cross Connecticut and Rhode Island Region.

Mohegan Sun President and General Manager Jeff Hamilton also welcomed the collaboration, encouraging fans to participate while celebrating Metallica’s upcoming performances.

The blood drives are scheduled as follows:
November 18 – 10 AM to 4 PM
November 20 – 10 AM to 4 PM
November 21 – 9 AM to 2 PM
