Metal giants Metallica have released their new video single titled “Screaming Suicide,” which you can stream below. The tune appears on the band’s upcoming new album dubbed ’72 Seasons,’ which is set to be released on April 14th. The clip was directed by Tim Saccenti. The band also recently dropped new video single “Lux Æterna.”
Frontman James Hetfield comments on the new track, “‘Screaming Suicide’ addresses the taboo word of suicide. The intention is to communicate about the darkness we feel inside. It’s ridiculous to think we should deny that we have these thoughts. At one point or another, I believe most people have thought about it. To face it is to speak the unspoken. If it’s a human experience, we should be able to talk about it. You are not alone.”
Additionally, Metallica have also confirmed their ‘M72 World Tour’ for 2023 through 2024 featuring support from Architects, Mammoth WVH, Five Finger Death Punch, Ice Nine Kills, Pantera, and Greta Van Fleet in select markets. Here’s more info from a presser:
“Metallica’s M72 world tour will see the band playing two nights in every city it visits—with each No Repeat Weekend featuring two completely different setlists and support lineups. The M72 tour will feature a bold new in-the-round stage design that relocates the famed Metallica Snake Pit to center stage, as well as the I Disappear full-tour pass and the debut of discounted tickets for fans under 16 years of age.”
