Nails have signed with Closed Casket Activities and marked the occasion with a new two-song release, Fear Based Life.
The 7-inch features the new tracks “Dollar Bin Generation” and “Fear Based Life,” both of which are streaming now. A vinyl edition is set for release on October 9 through Closed Casket Activities (pre-order).
The signing formalizes a relationship between Nails and the label that stretches back more than a decade. The band says Closed Casket Activities founder Justin Louden has been involved behind the scenes with Nails since 2011, offering input on touring, business decisions and other aspects of the group’s career.
“There hasn’t been a more instrumental asset to NAILS than Closed Casket Activities in the past 15 years,” the band said. “Signing a record deal with Closed Casket Activities is the best move for NAILS and we know this is going to serve NAILS the best for the band’s needs.”
Fear Based Life also serves as a bridge to Nails’ next full-length. The band confirmed that its fifth studio album is currently planned for summer 2027.
The two new songs were written collaboratively in November and December 2025 and recorded by Andrew Solis, with mastering handled by Nick Townsend. Jef Whitehead (Wrest) created the cover artwork, while Cavan Hoover contributed additional artwork.
“We decided to release them as we thought they complimented each other well together,” Nails said of the two tracks. “It was a great experience putting this release together and working with everyone who collaborated on it including Closed Casket Activities. We hope you enjoy it.”
Nails will head overseas in October for a run of UK and European shows with Rotten Sound and Invunche, with Wolfbrigade joining select dates.
