Swedish progressive metal greats Pain of Salvation recently closed out a string of North American tour dates with French proggy rockers Klone in tow. Pain of Salvation kicked off their outing at ‘Cruise to the Edge’ from May 2nd-7th, and concluded the trip on June 2nd at the ‘ProgPower USA’ gathering in Atlanta. The tour made a stop in New York City at the Gramercy Theatre on May 27th — photos from the night by Rodrigo Fredes are available below.
Pain of Salvation performed tracks off their latest two albums, ‘Panther’ (2020) and ‘In the Passing Light of Day’ (2017), along with select tunes from ‘The Perfect Element I’ (2000), during their 12-song set in the Big Apple. The May trek commemorated Pain of Salvation’s first American crusade since their 2017 outing (which hit the much smaller Marlin Room at Webster Hall in NYC), and also marked the first time stateside fans were able to enjoy tracks off ‘Panther’ in a live setting.
Next up for Pain of Salvation, you can catch the Swedes live at ‘Rock Imperium Festival’ in Cartagena, Spain on June 25th, and at ‘United Arts Festival’ in Gdańsk, Poland on August 12th. Get more info and tickets here.
