Rush have announced a five-show residency at Sphere in Las Vegas, scheduled for May 21, 23, 26, 28 and 30, 2027, as part of their “Elevate From The Norm” performances.
The residency will feature founding members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson alongside drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Loren Gold, who are also part of the band’s current “Fifty Something” tour.
Each performance will celebrate Rush’s catalog and the legacy of late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart, who died in January 2020. The shows will feature fan favorites and material spanning the band’s career, with Lee confirming plans to perform the albums 2112 and Moving Pictures in their entirety.
“When I first heard of Sphere, I thought to myself, ‘wow, what a shame that RUSH is no longer touring, because this venue sounds tailor made for the kind of visual attitude with which we have always designed our shows,'” Lee said.
He added that the band is developing new production elements specifically for the venue.
“We are presently working hard to expand our touring concepts and concoct some new madness to suit this incredible venue,” Lee explained.
The Las Vegas performances will make use of Sphere’s immersive production technology, including its wraparound LED display and Sphere Immersive Sound system.
The announcement follows the band’s return to touring with Fifty Something, which has sold more than one million tickets across North America, South America, Europe and the UK, according to the announcement.
