Sevendust celebrated 21 years of their fourth studio album Seasons with a nationwide tour, stopping by New York City’s Palladium Times Square on September 19th. Supporting bands for the tour were Horizon Theory, Return to Dust and 10 Years.
We arrived just in time for 10 Years, a band I’ve wanted to see for ages, and I was so glad to have arrived on time. 10 Years, from Knoxville, Tennessee, has been active since 1999 and has released nine albums together. The band’s music features melodic guitars, complemented by lead singer Jesse Hasek’s powerful vocals. With 25 years under their belt, the band remains one of the most underrated rock acts. The band’s live performance on that night lived up to my expectations. Not only did they get the crowd up and moving, but the audience was singing along, proving the band’s lasting impact. The band’s performance proved they deserve even greater success.
Sevendust has enjoyed a steady career since their debut in the ’90s, releasing a total of 14 full-length albums. One of my personal favorite bands, they have maintained a melodic and eclectic sound throughout their discography. For this tour, the band celebrated the 21st anniversary of Seasons, an album filled with memorable tracks. The crowd came to the show knowing all the lyrics, singing them back to lead singer Lajon Witherspoon and even moving him to tears. Although they aren’t typically considered a moshing band, the crowd was especially aggressive that night, moshing along to the album’s heaviest tracks. It was clear from the crowd that the band has many long-time fans who will continue to support them as they progress through their journey.
