On May 18, 2018, progressive metal supergroup Sons of Apollo – featuring former Dream Theater members Mike Portnoy and Derek Sherinian, plus Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses), Billy Sheehan (The Winery Dogs, Mr. Big, David Lee Roth) and Jeff Scott Soto (ex-Journey, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen’s Rising Force) – brought their spring headlining romp to New York City for a show at the now defunct PlayStation Theater in the heart of Times Square.
