System of a Down spark 2027 show speculation with mysterious Los Angeles projections

Photos have surfaced showing System of a Down‘s name projected across several locations in Los Angeles, accompanied by the year “2027,” sparking speculation about a possible concert announcement.

The displays were spotted Friday night (October 16) in multiple areas of the city, including near the Capitol Records building in Hollywood, downtown Los Angeles, along Pico Boulevard, and off the 101 Freeway.

Some projections feature the band’s name in large illuminated lettering, while others display the System of a Down logo alongside the year 2027.

Earlier in the week, fans also spotted posters featuring the band’s logo and the year 2027, adding to speculation that an announcement could be on the way.

The mysterious displays have prompted fans online to speculate about what the band might be planning, with some suggesting that a major Los Angeles-area concert, potentially at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, could be in the works.

However, System of a Down have not officially announced a Rose Bowl performance or confirmed what the projections are teasing.

The band previously announced a series of 2027 stadium shows with Faith No More in Brazil, Australia and New Zealand, beginning January 15 in Rio de Janeiro and wrapping up February 7 in Wellington. The newly spotted Los Angeles projections have raised questions about whether additional performances could be announced.

Meanwhile, System of a Down are also celebrating the 25th anniversary of their 2001 album Toxicity with a week-long exhibition at Beyond The Streets in Los Angeles. The free exhibition runs October 13-18 at 434 N La Brea Ave. and features rare memorabilia, immersive installations, album artwork and exclusive merchandise.

For now, further details about the projections remain unknown.
