Italian symphonic power metal band Temperance have released a music video for their new single “The Fool,” the fourth and final preview of their upcoming album Arcani, due October 16 via Napalm Records.
The track serves as the album’s opening song and features the band’s signature blend of symphonic arrangements, melodic guitar work and multiple vocalists, including Kristin Starkey, Michele Guaitoli and Marco Pastorino.
“The final single leading up to Arcani, ‘The Fool,’ has a rather unique story behind it,” Pastorino explained. “I received these lyrics from Kristin, and built the entire song around them.”
He added, “The perfect opening track for this new full-length album, it blends many of the signature elements that define Temperance: from epic choruses and soaring guitar melodies to a neoclassical acoustic break.”
Arcani marks the band’s eighth studio album and features 13 songs inspired by the Major Arcana cards of the Tarot deck. While not a traditional concept album, each track draws on the symbolism of a different card, exploring themes of change, fear, hope and personal reflection.
Temperance will support the release with a European tour alongside Kamelot and Exit Eden, beginning November 1 in London. The band will also appear at Kamfest in Tilburg, Netherlands, on October 31.
