The Violent Hour reveal debut album ‘Pretty Girls Do Ugly Things,’ share “Already Dead”

The Violent Hour, the heavy rock project led by former Butcher Babies vocalist Carla Harvey, have announced their debut album, Pretty Girls Do Ugly Things, set for release on January 22, 2027.

The 11-track record was written by Harvey alongside Charlie Benante (Anthrax, Pantera) and draws from hard rock, metal, punk, and alternative influences.

“‘Pretty Girls Do Ugly Things’ isn’t just about girl power women behaving badly,” Harvey explained. “It’s almost the thesis for the whole record: good people can do ugly things, beautiful things can come from ugly places, and sometimes you have to get a little ugly to survive.”

Alongside the album announcement, The Violent Hour have released a new single, “Already Dead,” accompanied by a music video directed by Vicente Cordero.

The song addresses overcoming emotional pain and finding strength after reaching a breaking point.

“‘Already Dead’ is about reaching a point where someone has put you through so much that they can’t hurt you anymore,” Harvey said. “There’s nothing left for them to take, and that can become its own kind of power.”

The accompanying video takes place in a morgue, drawing on Harvey’s background as a former embalmer and funeral director. The clip combines horror-inspired imagery with a more lighthearted approach as Harvey’s character comes back to life.

The Violent Hour’s live lineup features Harvey alongside lead guitarist Kiana De León, drummer Sasha De León, bassist Jewel Steele, and rhythm guitarist Allie Kaye.

Pretty Girls Do Ugly Things is available for pre-order now.
