Swedish metal band Wormwood have released their new single, “YRA / EXTAS,” along with an official music video. The track is the latest preview of the band’s upcoming EP, Å, which arrives August 7 through Black Lodge Records / Sound Pollution (pre-order).
Set in present-day Stockholm, the video follows a single mother dealing with personal struggles and self-destructive behavior. According to the band, the story was inspired by real criminal cases and draws influence from Nordic Noir crime dramas.
Å follows a string of releases from Wormwood since the band’s formation in 2014. The Stockholm outfit has built a reputation for blending black metal, folk influences, and atmospheric songwriting across four studio albums, an EP, and a live release.
