GWAR side project X-COPS have surprise released a new three-track 7-inch EP, Confidential, available now through Pit Records on vinyl and digital streaming platforms.
The release features three new songs: “Hatin’ It,” “Smartass (Hands Up)” and “The Art (of Shutting Your Fucking Mouth).” According to the band, Confidential marks the final recording with their current lineup.
Originally formed in the mid-1990s, X-COPS returned in 2024 after a lengthy absence. The group features members of GWAR performing as fictional law enforcement officers and other characters, combining punk and metal with satirical lyrics.
The new EP arrives as X-COPS continue their run supporting GWAR on the “Gor Gor Must Die!” Tour, alongside Midnight and Mac Sabbath. The band is also appearing on this year’s Headbangers Boat cruise, which runs from October 30 through November 3.
The tour includes a New York City stop at Palladium Times Square on December 10.
