Fimbul Winter, the melodic death metal band featuring three former Amon Amarth members, have released their new single, “When The Sun Comes Out At Night.”
The track features a guest appearance from The Crown vocalist Johan Lindstrand and follows the band’s recent single “Crowned In Ash” as well as their 2025 debut EP, What Once Was.
Lyrically, the band describes the song as being about “the loss of stability experienced upon seeing reality too clearly,” where “this awakening of truth, of knowing, becomes disorientating as it dismantles what was once certain.”
Fimbul Winter was formed in 2023 by former Amon Amarth members Niko Kaukinen, Fredrik Andersson, and Anders Biazzi, alongside vocalist Clint Williams. The project grew out of a reunion performance of Amon Amarth’s 1994 demo The Arrival of the Fimbul Winter and has since evolved into a new melodic death metal outfit rooted in the Swedish scene while forging its own identity.
