Italian technical death metal veterans Hour of Penance have entered the studio to begin work on their tenth full-length album, the follow-up to 2024’s Devotion.
Recording sessions are currently underway at Bloom Recording Studio with bassist and producer Marco Mastrobuono once again handling production duties. The studio also hosted the recording of the band’s previous two albums, Misotheism (2019) and Devotion (2024).
In a statement, the band shared: “With immense pleasure we have finally walked through the door of the Bloom Recording Studio once again, the same studio where we’ve recorded our last 2 albums (Misotheism and Devotion) with our bass player – gear nerd – producer Marco Mastrobuono behind the mixing desk. Our drummer Giacomo Torti has just finished tracking the drums, we will share some footage of the recordings on our socials, so stay tuned for more. The recording process will take a while but we’re aiming to have a final version of the album by the end of the summer.”
The title and release date of the upcoming album have yet to be announced. The new record will be the band’s first since extending its deal with Agonia Records in late 2025.
